Our story
An immense love for the Douro
Portugal EV Tours first came to life in early 2018, from an immense love for the Douro Valley and the wish to share it, while staying aware of the need to preserve the region and lower our carbon footprint while visiting it.
Built on sustainable tourism and transport, we chose 100% electric vehicles that could take small groups on exclusive, luxurious experiences: Tesla. We were the first company to offer wine experiences in the Douro Valley using only electric vehicles, and on every trip to the Douro we save around 80 kg / 176 lbs of CO₂ emissions.
We also create experiences of our own, like Douro Wine & Stars, a night-sky experience that combines wine tastings, gastronomy and astronomy. With it, launched in 2019, we became the only tour operator hosting a night-time experience in the Douro Valley. The following year, the Douro Valley’s Tua region was recognised as a Dark Sky Reserve.
Our main activities are in the Douro Valley, but not only there. We also provide transfers.
