What makes it different
Morning at H.O. Winery, Cumieira: the Prova 2 Quintas, ninety minutes in the cellar with HO Reserva white and red, Menin Reserva white and red and Menin LBV, served with the house board. Horta Osório since 1791, now H.O. Wines, Baixo Corgo
Lunch at the Cantina de Ventozelo, the old workers' dining house: seasonal cooking from the estate garden and the region, on a 400-hectare quinta on the left bank, with wines from the same hill
Afternoon at Casa de Santa Eufémia, a family Port house on the Lamego side of the river: the visit is in the cellar, with Ports drawn from wood, not just from a dressed bottle
No river cruise. The day is tasting, lunch and wood, then home
